Almond Flour Brownies

by Candice

I developed this recipe for almond flour brownies on a whim back in May 2020. I just used ingredients I already had and decided to see what would transpire. These brownies turned out to be such a hit, it was so easy to make and requires ingredients you may already have in your pantry.

Almond Flour Brownie Ingredients

This recipe is naturally gluten free and only uses honey as the sweetener. I find almond flour so easy to work with as it doesn’t contain any gluten. I like to avoid using the oven during the summer because it gets so hot outside, there’s no need to create even more heat inside, which is why I take full advantage of the winter time and prefer to do my baking during the fall and winter months.

There are so many different variations of making brownies, that this is just one of several version of brownie recipes I like to make. You can also add in any ingredients you like, adding in chocolate chips will make it incredibly gooey, or adding in nuts for some crunch will take this brownie to the next level! Adding in coffee will also help enhance the chocolate flavor without it tasting like coffee. Coffee and chocolate pair so well together! You can also swirl in some nut butter for extra flavor or top it off with flaky sea salt, the options are endless. It really is a choose your own adventure brownie.

As you might be able to tell, I love to incorporate nuts into a lot of sweet and savory dishes that I make and develop. If you have a nut allergy, you can try substituting the almond flour with regular flour or gluten free flour.

It’s currently lunch time as I write this and I always crave something sweet after eating my lunch. This is the perfect “lunch dessert” as it isn’t overly sweet or heavy.
