Girls Trip to California

by Candice

Girls Trip! I recently went on a girls trip to California to visit my best friend’s hometown. It was a long weekend trip filled with lots of relaxation, shopping, burritos and In-N-Out!

We stayed at The Seabird resort in Oceanside, CA overlooking the pacific ocean. This resort had plenty of amenities including a jacuzzi, fitness center, pool, two restaurants, a spa, club, meeting rooms and they even had an outdoor smores station! If you’re ever looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend the seabird.

Oceanside is very much a beachtown and is pretty walkable so you definitely do not need a car. We went to the beach at sunset before dinner and it was so beautiful.

We visited Carlsbad, Encinitas and spent a day in Los Angeles. The LA road aren’t for the faint of heart. One thing I love the most about California is the infinite number of palm trees, it’s definitely a treasure.

We went to Carlsbad Village and spent a day exploring the town, shopping and getting massages. Carlsbad has some of the best shops in town such as unique boutiques, book shops and authentic burritos! I ended up purchasing a few sweaters and found a really cute tulle skirt at a price that can’t be beat.

The weather is a crisp and cool 60 degrees and was like that for most of this trip.

Firstly, each morning starts out with a trip to camp coffee to order their camp hot cocoa, which contains two torched marshmallows with whipped cream, it’s like a campfire in a cup!

Secondly, we start out the day with ordering burritos so that we have something to eat while on the road. A burrito is a must have when visiting California. The burritos here are like nothing I’ve tasted on the east coast.

We drove from Oceanside to Los Angeles on Monday and visited erewhon which is probably the most expensive grocery store I’ve ever been too however the food there is amazing. I got a slice of pumpkin pie, cheddar jalapeno cornbread and hu dark chocolate.

We visited the grove, drove past the Hollywood sign and walked through rodeo drive. My favorite part of this trip was driving through Beverly Hills to see the beautiful houses, it felt like I was back in the suburbs. Sadly, we didn’t get to see any celebrities but there’s always next time! After driving back to Oceanside, we made one final stop at In-N-Out, I just had to get it since there isn’t any on the east coast. I ordered the grilled cheese with grilled onions, animal style fries and strawberry milkshake. It was the perfect meal to end our girls trip! Enjoy the rest of the photos from this trip!
