Life Lately January 2026
Life Lately January 2026
Happy New Year & Welcome back to Life Lately, the January edition! I am excited to recap what I’ve been up to in December and share my plans for January 2026 and life behind the scenes.
December was a slow month on the blog, I took a step back to focus more on my mental health and to prioritize self-care. January 1st also marks the two year anniversary of when I launched the Life Lately series. This series serves as my personal expression and allows me to share my creativity and my uneventful life with lots of kitty content!
Currently Eating
I am leaning into fresh, flavorful comfort foods that define my winter routine, from colorful vegetarian poke bowls packed with rice, pineapple, avocado, and crisp veggies to cozy plates of jollof rice with sweet plantains that bring bold, home-style flavor. Alongside these meals, I’ve spent the month exploring local coffee shops, sampling everything from classic lattes to creative seasonal drinks while discovering new cafés and study spots.

Currently Watching
My January 2026 watchlist is all about drama, comfort, and a little suspense, with several highly anticipated titles at the top of my list. I’m still in the midst of the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and during this winter break, I am catching up on season fourteen of Chicago Fire.
Life Behind the Scenes
At the end of August, I moved back home and have been truly enjoying the comfort and joy of being closer to family, from everyday conversations to meaningful time together that I didn’t realize I was missing. Returning to my childhood bedroom has been especially nostalgic, and I’ve been pouring creativity into transforming it into something that reflects who I am now. I can’t wait to share the full story and details of how I renovated my childhood bedroom, from design inspiration to before-and-after updates, as this move home has been both a personal reset and an exciting home makeover journey.

Nala
Since moving back home with me, Nala has adjusted wonderfully and seems happier than ever in her new (and familiar) surroundings. She’s been especially excited about my parents’ backyard, where she spends hours watching birds and squirrels from the windows, completely entertained by the nonstop wildlife activity. The extra space, quiet environment, and endless nature views have made this transition smooth and enriching for her, and it’s been so fun seeing how much she’s thriving. Watching Nala settle in has been one of the sweetest parts of moving home and starting this new chapter together.
