Welcome back to Life Lately, the July edition! I am excited to recap what I’ve been up to in June and share my plans for July 2024 and life behind the scenes.

Life Lately July 2024

June is the official summer kick off month.

I spent June floating away in the lazy river at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor and am planning on returning again for fourth of July. Believe it or not, I am already starting to plan for Halloween 2024. I take Halloween very seriously and as a fellow horror movie buff, I can confidently say no one does Halloween better than Fright Fest at Six Flags.

I know what you are thinking, it’s only July, but Halloween is what truly gets me through the long hot blazing summer days. While I do enjoy summer, fall and spring are my favorite seasons and in New Jersey the summer’s here are disgustingly hot. You start to sweat just by walking outside and while I love water parks, Halloween is my Christmas.

Aside from planning for Halloween, I recently visited Longwood Garden in Pennsylvania and enjoyed photographing throughout the gardens. Below are some shots I took while there.

Currently Eating

I have been making a vegetarian buffalo chicken salad using impossible foods chicken nuggets which are dangerously addictive. I love eating salad in the summertime, there’s something about cold, crispy vegetables mixed together with a silky dressing that hits all the right spots and leaves me feeling full throughout the day.

For a sweet treat, I discovered Oreos ice cream sandwiches and have loading up on those. If you didn’t know, oreos are my favorite cookie and I love trying out their new products. When I saw the ice cream sandwiches in the grocery store, I immediately grabbed it and put it in my shopping cart. These ice cream sandwiches tastes so good and the oreo tastes like a soft version of the original oreo cookie!

Currently Watching

Summer is the best time to catch up on tv shows since there aren’t many new shows airing throughout the summer. Reality TV has been making its way back into my life. I started a binge journey with Vanderpump Rules, then started The Valley and now I am watching The Kardashians on Hulu. I used to watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians when they were still airing on E! and with everything nowadays needing a subscription, I decided to finally pull the plug and buy a Hulu subscription so I can keep up again with the famous reality tv moguls. I just started season four and it does feel a little bit different from keeping up but overall it’s the same drama as usual but always entertaining.

Life Behind The Scenes

Aside from working on my blog, I am planning on doing one more renovation project this summer and that is redoing my office. I am planning on removing the existing wallpaper and replacing it with a neutral grasscloth wallpaper, and adding gingham wallpaper to the ceiling with a chandelier and I’m also reworking my current built ins and repainting the built ins with a lavender color. I am also planning on getting a new desk since the one I’m currently using is a console table that I’ve had with me since I purchased my first property.

Nala

July is an exciting month for Nala since July is her birthday month! This little nugget will be turning 5 on July 17th! A milestone birthday for my sassy kitty. Nala as usual is living her best life, she enjoys the large ceilings in the home along with the large windows as it gives her ample space to keep an eye on the neighborhood birds and squirrels. Nala is so spoiled and has all the toys in the world. She loves sleeping under the warm sun and has daily chats with her birdy friends.
