Life Lately July 2025

Welcome back to Life Lately, the July edition! I am excited to recap what I’ve been up to in June and share my plans for July 2025 and life behind the scenes.

I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks and am just now getting the chance to write this. In June, I took my first mini solo trip to Alexandria, Virginia for a few days. Old Town is filled with historical architecture and it is also pretty walkable! I took the amtrak down and it was only four hours! My favorite architecture that I saw was Spite House, I highly recommend visiting and you can definitely get it done in one weekend.

After that, I then went to San Diego for a work conference, these were the only photos I was able to take of San Diego. I didn’t have much time to explore, but the conference was so fun and they even had celebrity speakers come out, including Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey and Josh Groban!

Currently Eating

Watermelon season is here! As a result of watermelon being in season, I’ve been consuming watermelon almost every single day in various ways. Pairing watermelon with tajin and a little bit of lime juice is the perfect combo. I love consuming fruit in a sweet and salty combination, especially with summer fruits. I’m taking full advantage of watermelon season! I’ve also been consuming a lot of peanut butter, it’s my favorite go to snack and it gives me the perfect boost of energy during the afternoon.

Some recipes I plan to making include a fruit salad dusted with a generous amount of tajin, and of course my favorite Thai salad which is the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Currently Watching

Most of my nights consist of watching documentaries on netflix, specifically true crime. With all the travel, I haven’t had a chance to watch any new, but I do plan to peruse through netflix and see what shows might be a good watch. The ones I’m looking at are The Waterfront & Sullivan’s Crossing.

Life Behind the Scenes

With travel slowing down this month, I plan to spend some time at the beach. I haven’t gone to the beach this summer yet and I love the smell of the saltwater and the cold ocean waves hitting my body in the blazing summer heat.

Nala

Nala’s birthday is this month and she’ll be turning 6! I’m excited to celebrate her birthday with her and she’s been spoiled rotten recently with many new toys. Her new favorite activity is chasing her mouse toy around the house and then covering it with her body so no one else can steal it from her.

She’s also been staying cool indoors and out of the two of us, she enjoys the air conditioner the most.
